B.Sc. in Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre Technology (Formerly known as BOTT)

The Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre Technology (AOTT), formerly known as Bachelor of Operation Theatre Technology (BOTT), is a total four-year undergraduate Allied Health Sciences programme that prepares students to become skilled professionals in perioperative and anaesthesia care. The curriculum combines comprehensive theoretical knowledge with extensive clinical training, enabling graduates to assist anaesthesiologists and surgeons in the safe administration of anaesthesia, operation theatre management, patient monitoring, infection control, sterilization, and emergency care.

The programme emphasizes the development of technical competence in handling advanced anaesthesia workstations, ventilators, patient monitoring systems, and surgical instruments while maintaining strict aseptic protocols and ensuring patient safety before, during, and after surgical procedures. Students undergo supervised clinical postings in operation theatres, intensive care units (ICUs), emergency departments, recovery rooms, and trauma centres, gaining hands-on experience in real healthcare settings.
