A career guidance and counseling program develops an individual's competencies in self-knowledge, educational and occupational exploration, and career planning. It is a comprehensive, developmental program designed to assist individuals in making and implementing informed educational and occupational choices.
KBIHER is committed to providing Value Added Services to its students in recognition of the need to equip them with the skills, practical training and languages useful in working across diverse cultures and nationalities in this age of globalization. Acquiring these skill sets would greatly enhance their adaptability and placement opportunities in the highly competitive corporate world.
Goal
The Career Counseling Committee caters to counsel the students into not only professionally and academically but also on ethically and personally, so as to ensure a comprehensive development of the students. Committee shall focus on improving institutional effectiveness by integrating strategic training courses with the existing engineering curriculum.
Activities
- Training courses for success in GATE/JENPUS/JEXPO/NEET and other similar examinations
- Training courses on Oracle, JAVA, CCNA, Embedded Systems, VLSI, Web Designing, etc. for improving technical skills
- Short term training courses and workshops on allied Health Science and Hospital Administration, etc.
- Training courses on foreign languages such as English, French, Mandarin, and Japanese to help students land global assignments
- Organizing career counseling to enhance awareness of diverse job opportunities
- Organizing sessions in collaboration with the Medical industry
Aims and Objectives
As a department of the school concerned about students’ development, the Careers Guidance Committee aims to:
- Provide students with necessary information on further education and career opportunities.
- Promote students' awareness and understanding of their interests and abilities in relation to further education and job opportunities.
- Introduce students to the world of work and inculcate in them the correct attitudes towards work.
Functions
- To provide career counseling and career development sessions for graduates and alumni.
- To develop career services programs that will help students in exploring and planning career options.
- To work with students on their needs for career development.
- To conduct training, workshops, lectures, presentations, and other events to develop career planning and employability skills for students.
- To develop a positive working relationship with faculty, administrators, and co-workers to achieve desired goals.
- To coordinate with academic advisors to help students make career choices based on their academic majors.
- To analyze current employment trends in various industries.
- To maintain regular contacts with potential employers for new job opportunities.
- To educate students on resume building, interview skills, and professionalism.
- To conduct mock interviews and job search workshops for students.
- To conduct career awareness events and job fairs for students.
- To execute outreach programs to promote career services among students.
